International Women’s Day 2020 – Celebrating Women in Aquaculture

To mark International Women's Day Dr Marie Smedley (one of Xelect's Senior Breeding Programme Managers) presented at the 'Women in the Fishing Industry' event held on Sunday 8 March at the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther.

Marie discussed her own career journey and spoke about her experiences as a woman working in aquaculture.

Marie is an active member of Women in Scottish Aquaculture (WISA) and
recently featured in a short film from the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation
Council, WISA and Lantra Scotland to promote diversity amongst young
people joining the industry.
