The Xelect team has grown again recently with two new appointments. We’re delighted to welcome Dr Rose Komugisha Basiita as Senior Breeding Programme Manager and Danielle MacRae as Scientific officer.
Rose joins the team from WorldFish, where she was leading research into genetic selection for various tilapia species, leading the design and management of aquaculture for a number of regional programmes. Rose will be managing some of our key breeding programmes, in particular bringing a wealth of knowledge about advanced tilapia genetics.
Danielle brings a wealth of experience in high quality laboratory work, having helped to run a key high throughput COVID testing team during the pandemic and, more recently, providing QA audits for one of the world’s leading scientific testing companies. As Scientific Officer, Danielle will be supporting our clients with rapid, high quality genetic sequencing and laboratory services.
